The ISCJ Weekend School was formed in October 1983, 13 years after ISCJ itself was established. Weekend School initially had one session each Sunday with less than 40 students. Now the Weekend School has sessions on both Saturday and Sunday with almost 400 students combined.
Most of our students attend public school where they do not receive a formal Islamic education. ISCJ's Weekend School's primary goal is to equip its students with fundamental Islamic knowledge, values, and attitudes, so they can function as a contributing member of the growing Muslim society in the U.S. We seek to make this education process a worthwhile and fun experience, and to create a sense of belonging to Muslim community.
Islamic Dress Code is required at ISCJ Weekend School. All kids are expected to be dressed and groomed in accordance with the Islamic guidelines of Cleanliness and Dress. Students must wear clothes that cover them modestly as prescribed in Islam and girls must wear hijab.
